The State of Florida – in accordance with the Administrative Procedures Act (APA) – is on the verge of updating two insurance regulations. The first regulation (4 FAC 154.517) is getting changed; while the second regulation (4 FAC 235.003) is getting corrected. The State initiated this rule change due to public comments.

The State of Florida has just re-announced that it acquired receivership over Aries Insurance Company. The State obtained this status due to court order; and – apparently – on account of the insurer's insolvency. Claimants (eg, policyholders creditors etc.) have until November 14, 2003 to submit claims/inquiries.
