The State of Florida has announced that the State Fire Marshal no longer has to inspect every state-leased building [on a recurring basis]. There was a recent change to legislation [on this topic]; and now the state fire marshal is alleviated of that duty. As a result, the state will contract with local authorities [to perform the inspections].
