BROKER

A person who sells assets/properties – on behalf of the [item’s] owner. Brokers are typically licensed professionals. They include – but are not limited to:
insurance brokers;

real-estate brokers; and

stock brokers;

EXAMPLE:

John Doe wants to buy life insurance. So, he contacts DEF Incorporated (a brokerage firm that specializes in insurance). John’s broker/agent offers him several 10-year term life insurance policies (from various insurers). John ends up buying the one from XYZ Co.
